What is the Survey call?
The Survey call is a free, consultative conversation. We learn about your situation and advise you on the solution that fits, rather than pitching a one-size-fits-all package. It is the first step before anything else with Tax Sherpa.
Is the Survey call really free? Is there any obligation?
Yes, it is free, and there is no obligation. We learn your situation and recommend what fits, which may be a tax return only, or the Route.
How long is the call?
About 20 minutes. It is a video call on Zoom, or a phone call if you prefer, so you can take it from anywhere.
Do I call you, or do you call me?
We call you at your scheduled time. You do not need to dial in, though you can call us at that time if you prefer.
Who will I be talking to?
The Survey call is run by Mark Santos or Fatma Manguigin. If the Route is a fit, a Route call follows with Serena Cooper or Alex Brierley.
What should I prepare or bring?
Nothing. No documents are required. You just need to know your situation and rough numbers.
Can my spouse or partner join the call?
Yes, and it is preferable. Bring your spouse or partner so we have the full picture of your household's situation.
Is the call recorded?
Yes, the Survey call is recorded.
Can I reschedule?
You can reschedule up to the day before your appointment. If you miss a call, we will try to reschedule it with you. If you miss twice, we will probably not be able to talk with you, so please book a time you can keep.
Can I keep my current CPA or tax preparer?
Yes. If the tax strategy is what you want and it is a fit, you can take your plan, implement it, and keep your existing tax preparer.
Does Tax Sherpa work in person or remotely?
Tax Sherpa works entirely online, so you do not need a local advisor. Your Survey call is by Zoom or phone, and we serve clients wherever they are.
What happens after the Survey call?
After the Survey call you land in one of three places: tax return preparation for the current year, tax return preparation for prior years, or the Route.
